A Weekend Away

This weekend we traveled a short distance south to Portland. It was very fun seeing my amazing, beautiful grandchildren, eating out, seeing some music and best of all getting to buy some more Quince and Co. yarn for a granny square blanket. We ended it on Sunday having brunch with the family. To make the trip even more  awesome when I got home I had received Simply Crochet magazine, issue #1, which I found reasonably priced on Ebay. This is published in the UK and have not found its equal on the US market. I am so excited to read it!

Crocheting During Late Winter

I am happily working on a granny square project with lovely soft and colorful yarn. It is still very much winter here and the time of year we start longing for pinks, yellows and greens. 

This yarn from Quince and Co.Quince and Co. is perfect. I plan on purchasing more colors this weekend.

I am sure spring is around the corner as some critters are starting to move around, this little one curiously watched as I snapped his picture and we have a skunk who mysteriously moves into a hidden area of the barn for a couple of months every March for the past 3 or 4 years.With a hot cup of tea, my hook and yarns, granny squares it is!
